About US Medicare Guide
An independent resource for understanding Medicare dental, vision, hearing, and nursing home coverage — state by state.
Why This Site Exists
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) leaves significant gaps in everyday health care — dental cleanings, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and long-term nursing home care are largely excluded. Yet navigating what state Medicaid programs, Medicare Advantage plans, and community resources cover can be overwhelming.
US Medicare Guide was created to make that information clear and accessible. By compiling publicly available data from CMS and Medicare.gov into one place, organized by state, beneficiaries and their families can quickly understand what options exist before calling a plan or SHIP counselor.
How We Research & Verify Information
Every piece of information on this site is sourced from official U.S. government publications and public datasets. Our research process:
- CMS Public Data: Enrollment statistics, Medicare Advantage plan landscapes, and utilization data are drawn from data.cms.gov public datasets, updated when CMS releases new figures.
- Medicare.gov: Coverage rules, benefit explanations, and plan finder data are verified against Medicare.gov, the official U.S. Medicare website.
- State SHIP Programs: State-specific counseling resources and contact information are sourced from shiphelp.org, the national SHIP resource center.
- Medicaid.gov: Dual-eligibility and state Medicaid benefit details are verified against Medicaid.gov.
We do not invent, estimate, or editorialize coverage data. If official sources conflict or are unclear, we note the uncertainty rather than guess.
Independence & Transparency
US Medicare Guide is entirely independent. We are not affiliated with:
- The U.S. federal government, CMS, or Medicare.gov
- Any state government agency or Medicaid program
- Any insurance company, Medicare Advantage plan, or broker
- Any healthcare provider or hospital network
This site does not sell insurance, provide personalized plan recommendations, or receive commissions. It is an informational reference only. Always verify coverage details and eligibility directly with Medicare.gov or a licensed SHIP counselor before making enrollment decisions.
What This Site Is Not
The information on US Medicare Guide is for general educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for professional consultation. Medicare coverage rules, plan premiums, and state program eligibility change annually. Coverage details for your specific situation may differ.
