About US Medicare Guide
Helping Americans navigate Medicare dental, vision, hearing, and nursing home coverage — state by state.
Our Mission
US Medicare Guide is an independent, informational resource dedicated to helping Medicare beneficiaries and their families understand what coverage is available in their state. Navigating Medicare's dental, vision, hearing aid, and nursing home benefits can be confusing — our goal is to make that information clear, accessible, and actionable.
What We Cover
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) was designed primarily for medical and hospital care. It leaves significant gaps in everyday health needs:
- Dental — routine cleanings, fillings, extractions, and dentures are generally not covered by Original Medicare.
- Vision — routine eye exams and prescription eyeglasses are excluded from Original Medicare.
- Hearing Aids — hearing aids and fitting exams are not covered by Original Medicare.
- Nursing Home Care — Medicare Part A covers skilled nursing facility care short-term; long-term custodial care requires Medicaid.
State Medicaid programs, Medicare Advantage plans, and community resources vary enormously. We research and present this information for all 50 states in one place.
